The Texas Board of Professional Engineers Quarterly Board and Committee Meetings were held November 28-29, 2012.
New Rules: The agency quadrennial rules review was completed with adoption of rules following the proposal in the last board meeting. Thank you for those of you who provided comment and input. The new rules can be found here: http://engineers.texas.gov/downloads/rule_summary_122512.pdf

Texas Windstorm Roster –
The current Texas Department of Insurance Windstorm Inspector Roster is changing after December 31st, 2012, so all PEs performing windstorm inspections must be reappointed by January 1st, 2013, if they wish to continue to do so. Sunset Review –
The Sunset Advisory Commission met December 19 to pass their recommendations for the Texas Board of Professional Engineers. All previous recommendations were adopted by the Commission with a change extending the Texas Engineering Practice Act and the TBPE for an additional 12 years. http://www.sunset.state.tx.us/83.htm#ae
Outreach – Ethics, Licensure, and Beyond
TBPE staff provides outreach presentations all over the state on topics such as ethics (meets yearly continuing education requirements), updates on Board activities, and How to Get Licensed.
