The TBPE eNewsletter is your quarterly update on information about the Texas PE License and Licensing Board and is a supplement to the TBPE Express annual printed newsletter.

Legislative Changes & Criminal History Record Check
Changes made by the legislature to the Texas Engineering Practice Act went into effect September 1, and staff is working to implement these changes ahead of mandated timelines.  A summary of legislative changes can be found here:

One important change is the requirement that all engineers who renew an active license for the coming year and all new applicants for licensure in Texas complete a one-time Criminal History Record Check .  Each engineer will be responsible for complying with the law prior to renewing his/her license in 2014. We are working hard to make this process as easy as possible, and we will communicate details and provide updates through emails and our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) web page as they become available.

The Texas Board of Professional Engineers Quarterly Board and Committee Meetings were held August 28 and 29, 2013.


Outreach - TBPE Ethics Webinars a Success
TBPE continues to offer our Ethics training in a webinar format for the convenience of our licensees.  If you wish to fulfill your one-hour continuing education ethics requirements, consider a webinar.  December 2nd will be the next date for the ethics webinar.  Please see our wepage - http://engineers.texas.gov/webinars.html - for more information.  Registration for the events will be announced one month in advance.
