Edward Lee Summers, Ph.D. Biography
Edward Lee Summers, Ph.D. is a Professor of Accounting, Emeritus member of University of Texas at Austin and a retired Certified Public Accountant and Professor from the McCombs School of Business. He received his B.A. and B.S. from Rice University in Chemical Engineering and his M.B.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin. His teaching interests focused on managerial accounting and information technology; his research, on multidisciplinary professional partnerships. He is the author of dozens of papers and books and is the recipient of numerous awards and honors. He has been recognized for his professional contributions through such awards as the Distinguished Faculty Award, University of Texas PhD Students in Business, the Presidential Citation and the Accounting Educator of the Year, Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants. Dr. Summers resides in Austin with his wife Kathy.
